Tip #8 - When Your Friends Can't Donate

Our first suggestion to new clients is always to request donations from their closest friends and family in order to get the ball rolling on their Chance pages. However, we’ve found that many of our clients either do not have family members or friends who are in a position to donate, or they feel
uncomfortable requesting that they do. If you're in a situation such as this, you should request your close circle to do something just as valuable – help you spread the word.

Having your friends and family promote your Chance page is extremely powerful. It allows your Chance to have a much greater reach. More reach = more eyes = more donations! So although your best friend my not be able to donate, he could talk up your Chance page in his office; it’s more than likely that there are at least a few people he knows who would love to donate to your animal’s cause.

Some suggestions you can give your friends for spreading the word are:
  • Use social media sites such as Facebook to share your Chance page
  • Send e-mails
  • Put up flyers in their office or break room
  • Bring it up in casual conversation
  • Request an announcement to be made in their community/supportive groups
