Tip #7 - Fast Track to Donations

Are you looking for alternative ways to spread the word about your Chance page? We’ve got some ideas that will put you on the fast track to donations.

Go Old School – Use the Telephone
In a world full of texting, e-mail, instant messaging and social media sites, sometimes it can be difficult to cut through the clutter and make an impact on your target audience. Picking up that dusty, old telephone book might be more valuable than you’d think. Personalized phone calls will help your Chance stick out in the minds of your family members, friends and neighbors. It’s pretty difficult to ignore a request when it is done in real-time and aimed specifically at you.

Casual Conversation
Namedrop your Chance page. If you’re uncomfortable with flat out asking for a donation, try to slip your involvement with Pet Chance into some friendly conversation. Talking to the girls over lunch or hanging with the guys on a Friday night can prove wonderful opportunities for mentioning your pet’s profile. Simply bringing up the topic is sure to prompt questions, which can lead to donations – and you didn’t even have to ask!

Use Craigslist
Go to www.craigslist.org to place a free classified advertisement for your Chance page. We have received quite a bit of traffic from clients’ craigslist ads in the past. It’s an easy way to get the word out about your Chance and it can have very fruitful results.

Flyer it Up
Advertise your Chance page by posting flyers around your town or local businesses. No need to put your name on it – simply a photo of your pet, a short description of their medical issue and a link to their Chance page will do. If you’re feeling a bit more creative, you can even design your own Pet Chance “business cards” containing the same information as the flyers and pass them out at your own convenience.

Church, Community, and Support Groups
Talk to your church or other supportive groups about announcing your Chance at upcoming meetings. Caring communities such as these are typically more than willing to help a good cause - and your Chance is no exception!

If you have any other suggestions of how to advertise your Chance page, please post them here.
